The Cerviva consortium is pursuing research projects in the following main areas:
- Project 1: Introduction of automated cytoscreening into routine cytology practice.
- Project 2: Introduction of a virtual slide based EQA system in Irish cytopathology laboratories.
- Project 3: Acceptability, knowledge and attitudes towards, and psychosocial impact of, human papilloma virus oncogenic testing.
- Project 4: Cervical screening and human papilloma virus education out-reach programme.
- Project 5: Human papilloma virus DNA and mRNA testing in the Irish screening population.
- Project 6: Screening HIV positive women for human papilloma virus RNA transforming genes.
- Project 7: Human papilloma virus vaccination - the influence of HLA haplotype on vaccine efficacy and immune response.
